Samrand Abdi
I hold a Master's degree in Architecture and obtained my first architectural license in Tehran in 2000, where I worked with various architectural and engineering firms until moving to Canada in 2012. In Canada, I recognized the importance of gaining local experience and worked as an architectural technologist and designer while preparing for my professional license.
To leverage my background as a registered Architect in Iran, I pursued the BEFA program with the CACB, a licensing path for internationally trained architects.
Since then, I have accumulated a diverse work experience with architectural firms such as Worley, Caskanette Udall Consulting, and Fryett Turner Architects Inc. I then later started my own firm. I would be happy to share this experience as I advice future architecture on various career pathways. As a mentor, I can offer advice on the following:
✅ Architect licensing pathways, and provincial requirements
✅ CACB academic certification success strategies
✅ The Broadly Experienced Foreign Architect (BEFA) Program option, and interview preparation
✅ Optimizing internship hours to meet the Internship in Architecture Program (IAP) requirements
✅ Licensing exam preparation and resources
✅ Architect career options and job search
✅ Architect portfolio and resume preparation
