Ali Amer, MD
Dr. Ali Amer is a distinguished Anatomical and Clinical Pathologist with over a decade of experience in the field. As a Transfusion Medicine Director and current Patient Blood Management Physician Lead, he has been at the forefront of innovative blood management practices, significantly contributing to patient care and safety. In his role as an Assistant Professor at the Northern Ontario School of Medicine, Dr. Amer actively shapes the future of medical education, sharing his extensive knowledge with the next generation of pathologists. He is currently serving as a General Pathologist at North Bay Regional Health Centre (NBRHC), where his expertise in diagnostic medicine ensures high-quality healthcare delivery.
Prior to joining NBRHC, Dr. Amer held a key position as General Pathologist at Dr. Everett Chalmers Hospital in Fredericton, New Brunswick. His proficiency spans across multiple disciplines of pathology, where he played a vital role in both clinical diagnosis and transfusion medicine. Dr. Amer earned his Fellowship of the Royal College of Physicians of Canada (FRCPC) after completing a highly competitive General Pathology residency at McMaster University in 2012.
Dr. Amer's commitment to the medical profession extends beyond his clinical duties, as he is deeply invested in mentoring aspiring pathologists and medical professionals. His experience in education, coupled with his practical insights, allows him to guide students and colleagues toward professional growth.
